I am a deeply spiritual man, or call it a mystical man, for I ascribe to no limited religious worldview, or defining religious text or book. The whole world of art is my religious book. I marvel on the whole of mankind and nature. I have no need to limit myself, and I define myself for myself. The world itself is much more expansive, much broader in scope, than any political or religious ideology or dogma would have a person believe, and I am happy to marvel on the entire whole, consuming the whole thing, rather than a chunk or tidbit from some dark corner of ideology.
The starvation of the soul in the modern world is a cause of my disdain. It seems the people are missing an innate part of themselves and their body. As if they were a brain without a heart. For, while I stand out from the crowd by a silent stream and listen to coyote screeches in the distance, and feel at awe in the presence of mountains, the rest of mankind is missing the entire scene. They are essentially limited in their worldviews, and by their worldviews, and cannot understand for that.
There is in America, a vapid consumerism, which distorts and perverts everything. And the drive toward material gain, progress as it would be called, driven by our thirst for comforts and security, has in a way betrayed us to a false nature, rather than our actual nature. Because of this, and for other reasons, the modern man is drowning in material that is by cause inauthentic. And because of this inauthentic existence, in civilized modern society, of shopping malls and video games, rather than more instinctive urges, and our work life, which is far from satisfactory, hierarchical systems and subjugation, a man becomes other than a free beast, and is rather a zoo animal. Completely contained and restrained from his natural proclivity and urges. Subjected to the pressures to conform to the complex.
Nobody seems to feel the presence of what has always been called God, or a mystical and spiritual understanding of the world and nature itself, and the average man doesn't even consider these things in his daily trot thru life and to work. Even the American modern version of Christianity is not deeply set, for it has been stolen by consumerist materialists, a complete opposite to its foundation principles. It is an American version, adapted to our more modern way of life. Most christian ideas today are not even rooted to their document, the bible, but a picking of phrases for self-help- that God is a man in the clouds wanting to endow him with powers. And these powers to endow? Are material gain. Career advancement thru a kind of supernatural means.
